Residents and law enforcement in Philadelphia are breathing a sigh of relief today after a man suspected of shooting and injuring six police officers is now in custody.
Authorities say the suspect gave himself up after an hours-long standoff on the north side of town following a situation that began when police served a warrant as part of a drug investigation.
They were looking inside a house when they came under fire and at one point, two officers were trapped inside with the armed suspect.
The good news is, all six injured officers have been released from the hospital and Police Commissioner Richard Ross noted it was a miracle they weren’t killed during the incident.
