Some economists are predicting that many businesses will do well this holiday season despite the supply chain issues hampering the U.S. today. IU Kelley School of Business Director John Talbott told Inside Indiana Business that the main difference you may see this year is a lack of holiday discounts on items in both large and small stores. He says because of the supply chain circumstances and COVID recovery businesses are not as motivated to compete on prices. Talbott adds that one way you can help businesses this season is by buying gift cards, which has more assurances that businesses turn a profit.
