The Capitol City is now over the 200 homicide mark for the year 2021. Two more people were shot in Indianapolis over the weekend bringing the city’s homicide tally to 201 people killed this year. Those homicides include a seven-year-old girl and her three family members from March and the victims of the FedEx mass shooting. July was the most violent month with 32 people killed in that time frame. Indy Ten Point Coalition leader Rev. Charles Harrison says it’s shocking the violence has gotten this bad in less than a decade. 2012 was the last year Indy saw less than 100 homicides in a year.
