The Olympics are finally here! Personally, I love watching them. I always had aspirations to go to the Olympics, but af few injuries set me back quite a bit. Soccer was my main sport, but I also was quite the archery shooter. Nowadays… I’m convinced I’m going to be on the handball team next go around. I started training for it like a week ago! 😉 I’m just kidding!
The internet has been buzzing about what sports should be added to the Olympics. We’ll see Cheerleading there and a few others next time.
YouGov did a survey and the findings are quite interesting. Around 2% of the folks surveyed said they would like to see Quidditch at the Olympics.
Quidditch is the game that was played in Harry Potter. Everyone was “flying” on broomsticks throwing a ball around. The flying part wouldn’t be possible, but folks could run around with broomsticks. The rules might have to be adjusted a bit, but that can be done!
The argument for this game is… Harry Potter was and is still popular all around the world! Folks still watch the movies and read the books. This means that different countries could put together teams and compete.
To be honest, I think this is a great idea! It would give folks another opportunity to compete on one of the largest stages ever!
