Pickup trucks in country music lyrics are expected. A car insurance company (money.co.uk) recently teamed up with a data scientist and music lover (John Miller) to analyze lyrics from over 16,000 country songs and explore the relationship between the genre and pickup trucks and found that Chevy trucks were most frequently featured in modern country music.

… In the 2010s, Chevy trucks were the most frequently mentioned in country music, while Ford was close behind and Dodge was a distant third.

… The study found that 2019 was the biggest single-year for pickup truck country music, with more than one in 10 (11 percent) of all country sounds released that year featuring a reference to a pickup of some sort. As for the artist who loves trucks the most, that would be Justin Moore, with nearly a third (29.6%) of all his songs containing references to trucks.

Kris Kristofferson is hanging it up. The country music legend retired last year according to a new press release. At 84, Kristofferson’s estate will be managed by his management company, along with Kris’ son, John Kristofferson, who will now oversee the family’s businesses.
