If there is something strange in your neighborhood…Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
Today is National Ghostbusters Day! The blockbuster film was released on this day in 1984. It was the top grossing film of the year. It is a classic that has spurred a sequel and a reboot…and a new one is coming near the end of this year or early next year.
I remember this film like it was yesterday. The chemistry with the cast and the humor and action it delivered still holds up today. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver. Each one had a role in this amazing film that has delighted audiences for years. And the hit songs from Ray Parker Jr hit number one on the Billboard chart, and gets airplay around Halloween every year, and no 80’s playlist can be without it.
Take a moment to recognize this great film, and when theaters open back up again…I look forward to seeing many of the original cast back on the big screen again. Will the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man be returning? Slimer? One can only hope!
